Aditya Pancholi booked for 'assaulting' neighbour

Patel, who lives on the ground floor of Magnum Opus building in Seven Bungalows area of Andheri (West), in his complaint stated that on June 6 Pancholi went to his house after he got irritated due to noise at his house. The Versova police on Thursday lodged a complaint against actor Aditya Pancholi for allegedly assaulting his neighbour and threatening him with dire consequences over some renovation work.

The complaint was lodged against the actor under Sections 509 (word gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 324 (assault) and 452 (trespass alter preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after Pancholi’s neighbour Bhargav Patel gave the CCTV footage of the society where Pancholi was seen assaulting him. Patel, who lives on the ground floor of Magnum Opus building in Seven Bungalows area of  Andheri (West), in his complaint stated that on June 6 Pancholi  went to his house after he got irritated due to noise at his house.

"The arguments started between Patel and Pancholi over some carpentry work. Pancholi sudden became violent and started abusing him. He caught his shirt collar and dragged him out of the house and slapped him. When Patel’s wife intervened, the actor also abused her,” said a police officer. "The secretary of the society intervened and took Pancholi away. Patel then gave a written complaint to the Versova police,” said the officer, adding that “but when the police approached Patel to record his statement, he told that he would try to solve the issue with the help of society members”.

“But on June 19, Pancholi was standing and talking on the phone on the society premises. In the meantime, Patel came in and honked. Pancholi got irritated and an argument started between them. The victim alleged that Pancholi pushed him,” said the officer. Pancholi could not be contacted for his version. Meanwhile, his son Suraj Pancholi’s judicial custody in the Jiah Khan suicide case has been extended till July 11.
