The teams with the last two unbeaten records in this year's IPL came up against each other yesterday when the Delhi Daredevils took on the Mumbai Indians in Delhi.Daredevils captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and for the third game in succession asked the opposition to bat first.
Helped by 62 made from 34 balls by Sachin Tendulkar, and 61 from 37 balls by Saurabh Tiwary, Mumbai totalled 218/7, their second consecutive score of over 200.
Virender Sehwag, hero of Delhi's last match, opened with Tillakaratne Dilshan, who had yet to score a run in this tournament, but rectified that with a four off his first ball. He and Sehwag set off at a rate of knots, scoring 33 in the first three overs.
However, they could not maintain this as Dilshan was out to fellow Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga, and then Dwayne Bravo dismissed Sehwag and AB de Villiers in the same over. With Gambhir not batting, having injured a hamstring, the game was effectively over, and Delhi were dismissed for 120, losing by 98 runs.
Gambhir is another addition to the Indian injured list, which also includes Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and several others who are not fully fit.
