Baghdad suicide bomber targeting police kills 10

Iraqi officials say a suicide bombing targeting police in Baghdad has killed at least 10 people and wounded dozens.

Police and hospital officials say Sunday's blast struck recruits and police officers as they lined up to enter the police academy.

An Interior Ministry official says 10 people were killed and 50 wounded.

Other police and hospital officials gave a higher death toll, saying five policemen, three traffic officers and four recruits were killed.

One police officer says the bomber was riding a motorcycle when he drove into the line.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release information.
